Our Story
Since 1967, Galway Players has enjoyed being a part of the greater Galway community. Thanks to community and membership support, our non-profit group has been able to give back to the Galway community and school district by financially supporting school music programs, donating equipment to the Galway High School auditorium, providing scholarships to graduating seniors, and much more!
Our community theatre is dedicated to bringing captivating shows to the stage, providing a platform for local talent, and enriching the cultural scene of Galway, New York. Through our passion for the arts, we aim to foster creativity, inspire audiences, and create memorable experiences for all. Join us as we celebrate the power of storytelling, the thrill of live entertainment, and the joy of coming together as a community.

Our Founder
Sue Lukasiewicz founded the Galway Players in 1968 after a single PTA-sponsored production revealed the community’s deep enthusiasm for live theatre. An educator with a lifelong love of the arts, Sue built the organization on creativity, inclusivity, and a strong connection to Galway schools. Over four decades, she directed more than 40 productions and helped establish a welcoming, family-centered theatre tradition that continues to define the Galway Players today. Her vision and dedication laid the foundation for the vibrant community theatre we celebrate in 2026.
